I originally bought them for the pool area. They don’t stand out like a big blue rubbermaid would, plus, the lid is attached. I live in Texas and have teenagers, the big rubbermaid lid, if not clamped, would blow into the next county. Ths lid stays on and closed, with a quick slide, it clamps closed. The elements stay out and the top doesn’t blow open. My husband loved them so much, I bought one for his deer camp. Since the cold weather hit, I brought one into the house so the teenagers (heaven forbid) didn’t have to go to the garage for recycling. Actually, they didn’t, I was always retrieving from the trash. It worked, we have more recycling to put out each week than we ever had. I’m keeping it in there and ordering a replacement for the pool area and another one to place next to it labeled ‘recycling’.
