How do you clean fingerprints off wood furniture?

I have a new piece of furniture with a matte finish, that quickly developed some fingerprint marks. I used the wrong product on it, and it only polished the fingerprint marks, while the rest of the wood kept it’s matte finish. I’ve tried Murphy’s Oil Soap and even it won’t clean the shiny spots. Any other suggestions?

How do you clean kitty paw prints off antique furniture?

My little furry buddy has left a dull, grayish film all over the tops of my antique piano, sideboard, and china cabinet. I’ve tried using furniture polish, and even just plain water on a dampened rag – but it doesn’t come off! I’m hesitant to use chemicals on antiques – got any suggestions?

How do I clean and touch up the wood chairs?

I just purchased wood chairs from a chinese restraunant that have polyurethane and soy sauce on them. I already used pine sol and a scrubie sponge. It took most of the grime off, but they are still sticky. Should I continue or should I stop and use something else? I just want to make sure I’m not damaging the wood before I get a chance to enjoy them.
