A sturdy Southeast Asian hardwood comparable to teak and with excellent weather-resistant properties, kapur is light enough to move easily and requires no oiling unless to maintain a desired finish color. Left untreated, kapur will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. To prevent this weathering process, apply coats of teak oil. The frequency of necessary teak oil applications depends on the intensity of the outdoor elements. After kapur furniture has weathered, restore it to original condition by using teak cleaner and then applying teak oil to prevent more weathering. The barstools’ galvanized hardware is designed for rust-free performance.

I ordered these chairs knowing they would be exposed to rain. They are comfortable, went together easily, and are nicely designed. They are a great value for the price.
